Photo Edit Breakdown – Week 2
Welcome to this episode of Photo Edit Breakdown! I hope you had a wonderful week.
It’s always exciting and frightening to try new things, and I didn’t know how you would react to this new series I just launched. But it got received really well, and we got a lof of vote to decide which photo I would edit!
You’ve been more than 35% to vote for the first photo, the one of me jumping on a cliff in Etretat, with a nice rainbow in the background.
Here’s the before and after:

Honorable mention for #3 (the white cliffs) and #7 (the Eiffel Tower in the glass ball). Maybe your photo will be picked this time!
Anyways, regardless of if I’m editing the photo you voted for or not, I hope you’ll enjoy this video and that you’ll learn new things about editing and photography.
Let me know in the comments below what was your favorite part of the video!

TABLE OF CONTENTS
Photos of the Week
Monday
Silhouette photo with the sunset in the background. As I exposed this photo for the highlights, I went for the silhouette look and darkened the shadows; I also changed the colors in the sky to create this nice soft look.
Tuesday
Urban shot of an urban-famous staircase in Paris; wanted to accentuate the shallow depth of field, so I sharpened and added contrast to the picture in the phone.
I also desaturated the image because the whites were kinda blue to begin with.
Wednesday
On this one, I played on the reflection in the water. I desaturated the sky to create a moody feel, and let the reflection sky blue.
Thursday
Here I really wanted to contrast the dark sky with the white of the cliffs, so I accentuated both, to draw attention to the rocks.
Friday
Shot from the top of a building, just in front of the Eiffel Tower. Went for one of my classic look, moody desaturated greys, while adding some greens this time to add a nice spring touch to the picture.
Saturday
It was hard to have details in the sky and in the cave, because the raw file was really dark. I played with the red jacket color to draw attention to it. I felt like the picture was unbalanced, with all the attention to the bottom left corner, and nothing on the top right to counter it, so I added a bird in photoshop.
Sunday
Shot with my friend @st3phan3 who took me in a nice airplane aerial highway. Created this pastel blue, and brought back the detail in both the person and the plane. Added a subtle light flare in Photoshop.
Which picture should I edit next? YOU choose!
So there you have them, the 7 photos of the week!
As always, let me know in the comments what you think of the images!
Have a wonderful week, and I’ll see you next Monday to edit the photo you’ve picked!
