THE Best Place to Stay in Paros: Naoussa

Naoussa is a popular village located on the north of the island of Paros. It is definitely the best area where to stay in Paros island, although it can be somewhat overwhelming with all of the tourists and a bit pricey.

During the day, there are plenty of activities to do in Naoussa, from visiting the wonderful monuments to tasting the famous traditional Greek cuisine.

When it comes to facilities, Naoussa has all you need: taverns, shops, restaurants, and everything else are all available, and they are all near the sea, which is always amazing. It’s also really easy to move around Paros from Naoussa as there are several bus lines serving the city. 

This village is renowned throughout all of Europe for its beauty, and I’m sure you will love it no matter what you are looking for.

While Naoussa is incredible for its tons of facilities and wonderful points of interest, it is also filled with multitudes of hotels, from which it can be very tedious to choose from.

In all of Naoussa, there is simply no better overall place than Despina’s Mare. This accommodation is perfectly located in the center of the village, and there are lots of cafés, shops, restaurants and bars in the vicinity. Also, it is simply beautiful: not only is the apartment itself perfectly clean and stylishly decorated, but the area around it is unique and typical of the Cyclades.

If what you are looking for the most is a comfortable and luxurious stay in Naoussa, Paros, you should for sure book Villa Isabella. This wonderful villa is located on a hill and overlooks the stunning bay of Naoussa. Best Area to Stay in Paros for Families: Piso Livadi

Piso Livadi is a very charming Greek village located in the eastern portion of the island, in a much more peaceful area. Even after its large-scale development, it has retained its Greek charm, and I particularly love this place because of that.

The reason Piso Livadi is perfect for a family trip to Paros is that it is located in a perfectly relaxing area and has fantastic beaches. The busy villages of Naoussa and Parikia are definitely worth a visit, but they are not adapted for a stay for you and your loved ones.

Besides, you will be able to visit multitudes of nearby villages if you base your trip in Piso Livadi: Marpissa, Prodromas, and Marmara are all accessible, and there is even a popular beach in the south of the village, the Chrisi Atki beach. While Piso Livadi works for all ages, it is just perfect for a family trip for me.

Where to Stay in Piso Livadi

Whether you are traveling to a very touristic city such as Parikia, the capital of Paros, or to a calmer place such as Piso Livadi, it is always a hassle to pick a hotel.

Even though there are fewer choices to pick from, I have found the 3 best options for your next trip to Piso Livadi.

Parasporos Beach is a very large, sandy beach located on the west coast of Paros. It is very close to Parikia, the capital of the island, but is isolated enough for you to enjoy a less busy area and a well-deserved time in the sun.

This beach is not completely wild and uninhabited however, and it has lots of facilities such as restaurants, shops and hotels. What I personally love most about this place is the fact that there are many water sports activities, from surfing to parachuting and canoeing.

Although there are plenty of accommodations near Parasporos Beach, they will not always answer your needs, especially in terms of budget.

It is located in a large, verdant garden, only 500 m / 1,640 ft away from the beach, and has traditional Cycladic stone beds (yes, you heard that right!).

Best Location to Stay in Paros for Nightlife: Naoussa

You already know about Naoussa, the popular village located in the north of the island of Paros. Not only is it the best overall choice, but I’m convinced it is also the best place in Paros for nightlife experiences.

Naoussa is a perfect place to visit during the day, and there are countless experiences I can recommend you to try.

However, it is also the best place at night due to the numerous clubs, bars, and taverns, as well as the numerous younger people looking to party on the island of Paros!

Interestingly enough, it used to be the capital of Paros in the Middle Ages.

If you are looking for hikes and other adventures, Lefkes is just perfect. Many trails start from the village, and it offers stunning views of the Aegean Sea. Don’t worry, just because it’s isolated doesn’t mean you’ll lack facilities!

If you need a particularly comfortable stay in Lefkes, you should go for Agiasi Villas. These very fancy accommodations are located above the village, in a remote and peaceful area, in which you will have all of the time in the world to rest. 💰 Budget Pick: Villa Byzantino

You probably did not expect a villa to be my budget pick but, despite its name, Villa Byzantino is very affordable, and is definitely the best budget choice in Lefkes. It is ideally located in the center of the village from which you can explore the surrounding wilderness, is both traditionally and modernly decorated, and is only 10 minutes away from the beach in case you want to relax.

Is It Better to Stay in Naoussa or Parikia?

The answer to this question completely depends on what you are looking for in Paros.

Parikia is a very busy area with ferry junctions and lots of tourists. It is much busier than Naoussa, but also offers a lot of possibilities in terms of activities, trips, and facilities.

On the other hand, Naoussa is a smaller, picturesque, traditional village, which is ideal for nightlife. It is much more peaceful if you ask me, and will provide you with most of the things you need, but is overall more expensive and luxurious.

In any case, no matter what you prefer, there is a frequent bus connection between both places, and the ride is very short, so just go to both of them if you can!
